In former times, many of the older graves in St. Boniface RC Cemetery were subdivided into
family plots. Each family's plot was arranged in a rectangular area, at each corner there was
a two foot stone post, and the posts were interconnected by iron pipes. The entrance to the plot held a iron gate, and inscribed in the gate was the family’s name. These gates were placed circa 1902. During the 1960s the designated plot areas were eliminated and the gates were disposed. Fortunately, some families saved their family’s gate. Each gate is roughly 3.5 feet tall and 2 feet wide.
