HORSERADISH

Last year, on April 9, 2011, more than 35 people attended a horseradish demonstration at the Franklin Square Historical Museum, located in Rath Park,  Franklin Square, NY. The event was hosted by the Fosters Meadow Heritage Center under sponsorship of the Franklin Square Historical Society. Descendants were shown and helped in the making of how horseradish was made by the German families of Fosters Meadow — a Long Island pasture land and farming community settled by a German population in the mid-1800s.

Once again, it's April and we will be making horseradish.

Date: April 21, 2011, a Saturday at 10:30.

Refreshments will be available. Please bring your potato  peeler and a small jar to take some horseradish home.

If you are interested in attending please contact us at FostersMeadow.FSHS@gmail.com.
If you haven't already responded, please let us know, so we know how much horseradish to dig.

Below, are some photos of last year's event.
