Historical Presentation: Who Stole Fosters Meadow?


WHO STOLE FOSTERS MEADOW?

A presentation of historical information about Fosters Meadow and  early settling families in the period 1860-1900 and the paths that led to its name change to today's Elmont and surrounding areas.

Guest speaker: Ed Wesnofske

He was born in Hicksville and raised in both Hicksville and Bridgehampton on a family farm that is still operational in Bridgehampton. In 1880, three of his four pairs of great grandparents lived within a quarter mile of each other in Fosters Meadow. He is retired from a 35 year career as a college professor at the SUNY College at Oneonta in 2000. He has been researching Fosters Meadow since June 2009.
